General Description of Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the manager, the Direct Support Staff (DSS) is responsible for linking families to community resources and advocating that the needs of the families are met. The DSS will provide direction and follow-up with families and individuals regarding their concerns and issues. The DSS is expected to work in the community; travel and flexible work times may be required. Minimum Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent Experience in the behavioral health field Effective communication and written skills are essential Proficiency with computer and databases Knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, psychotropic medications, various treatment interventions, and community resources Knowledge and experience with individual, group and family peer mentoring Strong knowledge of wellness, recovery and self-help Extensive knowledge of behavioral health challenges which include knowledge of the impacts of mental illness, domestic violence, and the dynamics of addictive behavior Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred Must possess a valid Arizona driver?s license, insurance coverage, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record Must pass pre-employment drug screening CPI is an equal opportunity employer.
