Job Description:

The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) is responsible for the oversight of all DISA test and evaluation (T&E) within DISA. The mission of the JITC labs at Fort Meade and Fort Huachuca is to enable the successful transition of joint acquisition IT systems from developmental testing to fielding through early and continuous involvement in the program life cycle. System Administrator duties include maintaining the existing TE infrastructure, software, and tools, supporting JITC test divisions and other internal or external customers using JITC automated testing instrumentation. This work also includes development of new test infrastructure and capabilities with engineering, software development, systems and networks administration and in accordance with Information Assurance (IA) guidelines as per Department of Defense (DOD) Instruction 5000.12. Responsibilities: * Establishes, configures, maintains, and supports internal and/or external systems for the organization. Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and configurations. Conducts system capacity testing and analysis on performance. * Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.* Development of new test infrastructure and capabilities with engineering, software development, systems, and networks administration and in accordance with IA guidelines as per DODI 5000.12.* Install Hardware: Computers, terminals, disk drives, compact disk read-only memory (CD-ROM), random access memory (RAM), printers, network interface cards (NIC), cabling, and other system components.* Monitor Resources such as printers, disk space usage, network performance, server performance, workstation performance, various peripheral performances, and all security, application, and system log files regularly. * Configure Software: virtual machine (VM) technologies, system interfaces, kernels, networking software, system accounting, system quotas, mail systems, news services, time services, web services, and other server-related services.* Hardware/Software Troubleshooting problems with software and hardware, including network connections, failed services, incorrectly configured security parameters.* Troubleshoots system performance issues and recommends corrective actions.* Optimizes the functionality of networks and systems.* Diagnoses and recovers failed systems. * Ensures appropriate system security measures are in place. * Responsible for backup or recovery procedures Required Skills and Experience: * Requires an Associate''s degree; or at least 60 semester hours of formal education working towards an Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree and at least 2 years of experience; or at least 4 years of experience. The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to Network or server Administration job duties. Experience should be in specific IT fields, either commercial or Government.* Must be US Citizen and possess an active Secret Clearance* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals* Works under general supervision. * Typically reports to a Task Lead or Project Manager.* Possess an interim or final IT-level I certification - CompTIA Security + and operating system cert.* Requires at least 1 certification in the area of specialization Preferred Skills and Experience: * Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Experience.* Experience with Virtual Machine technologies* Possess experience with DoD''s defense in-depth architecture and the capabilities associated with the DoD architecture and IA/CND Policies and Procedures.
