As a Subject Matter Expert, Technician, or Analyst you will:

  A week in the life of a Subject Matter Expert, Technician, or Analyst:
  
  • Perform analytical work in support of testing, evaluation, and certification of Information Technology and/or National Security Systems related to networks, systems, and equipment
  • Incorporate DoD interoperability directives and instructions in all Test and Evaluation (T&E) processes; T&E support areas include developmental, operational, standards conformance, capability, and interoperability covering the broad spectrum of DoD, Federal, and Government IT systems or components
  • Follow and applies common T&E processes that include identify requirements, verify user needs, develop evaluation approach, collect data, analyze data, and report on findings
  • Review, analyzes, and evaluates IT system operations
  • Review and analyzes blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications; must be able to review, analyze, and interpret customer information
  • Solicit system requirements and associated operational environment to produce an evaluation approach that supports T&E objective
  • Share and briefs T&E project milestones to all levels of stakeholders
  • Conduct and may oversee testing of processes and products
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of test procedures to determine if standards and criteria are met
  • Recommend adjustments to the T&E process or detailed procedures if appropriate
  • Provide technical testing, test analysis and/or test management on DoD systems or components for all branches of the service and Forth Estate
  • Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation
  • Use on manual methods and automated test tools to execute the T&E assessment then collect and analyze the data
  • Inspect, tests, and measures data that is produced or consumed
  • Document, notify, brief, and discuss results
  • Record all initial findings and documents final test results in a designated formal cybersecurity report
  • Account for anomalies and errors found in testing, notifies customers and management, and may help analyze and/or correct problems

    Job Requirements
    
    Required Education And Experience
    
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, and various engineering and science disciplines; Masters preferred
    • Minimum of ten years of hands-on operational experience testing and/or managing DoD programs in C5ISR, AIS, and/or IT/NSS
    • Current SECRET or higher clearance
      
      Essential Requirements
      
      • Specific experience and background in commercial and/or government specified fields such as cloud, enterprise, virtualization, web, IT hardware and software, database, storage, mobility, communications security, DoD networks and services, and DoD standards conformance technologies is required when supporting the associated IT T&E areas. Examples of specialty IT fields include Logistics Systems, Business Systems, Financial Systems, Homeland Security Systems, DoD Tactical Data Link Systems, DoD C2 Systems, and DoD Force Application/Force Protection Systems
      • Specific experience and background in commercial and/or government specified fields such as logistics, business, financial, healthcare, records management, communications, or C2 Systems is required when supporting those IT T&E areas
      • Certifications and training are desirable and include but are not limited to, DAWIA Test and Evaluation Level 1/2/3 certification, SPRDE Level 1/2/3 certifications, CTEP certification, and applicable United States Federal or DoD school training and certification on a specific system, network, or technology
