Job Description Job Description Overview: The Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is a licensed or credentialed behavioral health provider responsible for delivering direct, client-centered behavioral health support and vocational counseling to DKA participants. The BHP applies trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices to help clients build coping skills, enhance emotional resilience, and make progress toward their individualized goals. The BHP plays an essential role in supporting clients across programs by collaborating with Employment Specialists, Job Developers, Case Managers, and instructional staff to ensure behavioral health needs are accurately identified and effectively addressed. This role also assists intake staff by reviewing for accuracy and signing off on clinical assessments and individualized service plans for program participants. This position requires strong therapeutic communication skills, professional boundaries, and the ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team. The BHP is primarily a client-facing role, providing onsite services with some remote or telehealth sessions based on client needs. The BHP may also contribute to staff development by training team members in behavioral health best practices. Any remote work must be approved by and communicated to the CCO to ensure proper oversight and location tracking. Responds in a timely manner in all aspects of communication. Advocates for client needs and demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to support the health and success of the team, participants, and the agency by initiating improvements, solving problems creatively, and showing motivation for positive change and organizational growth. Completes all required agency training to maintain credentials and continuously enhance professional skills and knowledge. Ensures consistent compliance with all DKA policies and procedures, seeking guidance from the appropriate supervisor when questions or concerns arise. Adheres to assigned schedules and demonstrates punctuality, promptly communicating any scheduling conflicts, changes, or unforeseen absences to the appropriate supervisor. Assists in other areas as needed, supporting colleagues and agency operations by stepping in during absences, contributing to new projects, or performing tasks outside of regular responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor, review and approve clinical assessments and client service plans completed by the intake team to ensure accuracy, clinical standards, and compliance with RBHA requirements. Monitor and evaluate the clinical performance of BHTs and assist with implementing improvement plans or offering professional guidance as needed. Provide one-on-one vocational counseling sessions with clients who have requested the service to support their employment goals and address barriers related to mental health. Write clinical notes on the services provided to clients. Complete all reports and documentation in a timely manner, including progress notes, monthly reports, timesheets, and incident reports. Maintain strict confidentiality of client and customer records in accordance with HIPAA, DRM, and Federal Copyright Regulations. Perform other duties as assigned to support program and organizational goals. Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with a focus on team development and morale. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including solution-oriented approaches to addressing client and operational challenges. Excellent organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Adaptability and flexibility in responding to evolving client and organizational needs. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices, including SAMHSA guidelines, NASW Code of Ethics, and DSM-5-TR. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of three (3) years of industry-related experience Valid and current LPC License (Licensed Professional Counselor) Regulatory and Credentialing Requirements: Must be able to obtain fingerprint clearance within 90 days of hire. Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Current CPR and First Aid certification required or must obtain upon hire. Maintain compliance with all ongoing Relias and BHT training requirements. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, due to the potential to perform work within the Archive and PakMail environments. Exertion Level: This job is deemed MEDIUM duty work, as defined by the Social Security Administration, Code of Federal Regulations, ยง 404.1567, Physical exertion requirements: (c) Medium work . Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do medium work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary and light work.
