Job Description Job Description SUMMARY Provides counseling, supervision, and casework services to clients in a detoxification facility, acute psychiatric health care residential facility, in-home, or day treatment setting. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) Must be at least 18 years of age. Additionally some positions require eligibility to drive and require applicants to be at least 23 years of age and have a good driving record. Fingerprint clearance required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Demonstrated skill in counseling individuals, families, and groups. 2. Knowledge of principles and practices of case management. 3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the particular target population. 4. Knowledge of community resources. 5. Knowledge of the principles and practices of chemical dependency and/or treatment of the severely mentally ill population. 6. Ability to coordinate the work of others. 7. Knowledge of cultural characteristics of minority groups. 8. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Other Potential Requirements Availability to work evening and weekend hours Possession of First Aid and CPR certification. Physical Exam and T.B.
